Privacy Policy — PDF Master

Last updated: 28 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the PDF Master mobile app ("PDF Master", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. PDF Master is designed to be private by default: you do not need an account, and your documents are processed on your device.

The short version

1. Information we process

a) Documents and files — processed on your device

When you open, scan, import, edit, sign, annotate, merge, split, compress, protect, unlock, or run text recognition (OCR) on a file, all processing happens locally on your device. Your files, their contents, and their names are not transmitted to us or any third party by the app. Files you create are saved to the location you choose on your device.

b) Camera — for scanning only

With your permission, the app uses your camera to scan documents. Captured images are processed on-device and saved as PDFs locally. Camera images are not sent to us.

c) Optional, anonymous analytics

If — and only if — you opt in (you are asked during onboarding, and can change it any time in Settings → Share usage analytics), the app uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous information that helps us improve the app, such as which features are used (e.g. "merge", "scan", "annotate"), general in-app navigation, aggregate performance and stability signals, and whether the device has a premium subscription (as a non-identifying property).

We do not collect the contents of your documents, file names, or any personal information through analytics. Analytics is disabled by default; if you do not opt in, no analytics data is collected.

d) Purchases and subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions (PDF Master Pro) are processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles your payment and billing information; we do not receive or store your payment details. The app stores locally only whether your device currently has an active entitlement.

e) Biometric app lock (optional)

If you enable the optional app lock, biometric authentication (fingerprint/face) is handled entirely by your device's operating system. We never receive, see, or store your biometric data.

2. Permissions and why we use them

3. Third-party services

PDF Master relies on the following Google services, governed by Google's privacy policy:

PDF Master does not currently display third-party advertising and does not include advertising SDKs. If this changes in a future version, this policy and the app's Play Data safety section will be updated.

4. Data retention and deletion

5. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA and similar)

Because the app is accountless and does not collect personal identifiers, we hold no personal profile to export or delete. You can opt in/out of anonymous analytics in Settings, control permissions in your device settings, and remove all locally stored data by uninstalling the app. EEA/UK and California residents may have additional rights under the GDPR or CCPA; contact us for any request.

6. Children's privacy

PDF Master is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Security

Because your documents are processed on-device and are not uploaded to us, they are subject to your device's own security. We recommend using a device lock and the app's optional biometric lock for sensitive files.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
